| dc.description.abstract | The study focused on the effect of succession planning on employee retention. The researcher used a simple random sampling to select participants from the Forestry Services Division of the Forestry Commission Headquarters in Accra, Ghana. A sample of 100 respondents (60 were used) was included that comprises both male and female employees of the various departments. The results indicated that effective succession planning practices had a favorable connection with employee retention. Again, the findings of the research indicate that in order to retain the employees, the Forestry Commission should work on planning career development programs, identify and develop talent pool and offer non-monetary rewards to employees. The implications for the study are that it will bring a positive social change by adapting the effective succession planning practices which will as a result help to increase the morale of employee and enhance the professionalism whiles retaining the talented and highly skilled employees in the commission. The findings indicates that effective succession planning practices had a meaningful, favorable connection with employee retention. | en_US |
