dc.description.abstract This study investigated the Managers’ Perceptions of the Impact of Management Information Systems on the Effectiveness of Rural Banks: A Case Of Fiaseman Rural Bank Ltd. The study design used was a descriptive cross-sectional survey. A descriptive and diagnostic research study strategy were also employed to facilitate data collection and interpretation. The research objectives were; to examine the benefits of management information systems; to identify key challenges in the implementation of management information systems; to ascertain managers’ perceptions of the impact of management information systems on the effectiveness. The total population comprised of seventy-two (72) staff consisting of operational, middle, and senior managers. The stratified sampling method was used to select the sample of respondents for the survey in order to ensure representativeness. An online survey was administered to the sampled respondents using Google Forms. In conclusion, the managers at Fiaseman Rural Bank have the perception that MIS is moderately beneficial to the bank. They however think that MIS has a somewhat positive impact on the effectiveness of the bank. They also did not totally agree that the challenges stated in the survey hold true. There was generally a lack of heterogeneity in the perceptions of the managers regarding MIS. Senior management should engage managers at all levels on MIS issues, especially the performance of Temenos T-24, Koboko Plus, and Quick Loan. The engagements should focus on current performance levels, expected performance levels, and what can be done to bridge the gap. The Board of Directors should request for an Information Systems Audit of Fiaseman Rural Bank. en_US
